South Korea will decide whether to begin the much postponed spring semester because of the COVID-19 outbreak by early next week.
South Korean Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said on Saturday that concerns still linger around the spring semester date that is set to begin on April 6th.
Chung said the government is conducting a survey of parents and public opinions on the spring semester date and will make a final decision under rules that prioritize children's safety.
The South Korean government has already delayed the new spring semester three times due to the pandemic.
Urging social distancing and strict self-isolation, the prime minister asked young adults to refrain from going to entertainment facilities like clubs that are prone to spreading infections.
