A Strange Box Exposed My True Identity

A Strange Box Exposed My True Identity Hi, I’m Seth and I’ll be telling you how I ended up in a sticky situation where my girlfriend’s life depended on me.

You see, Renee and I met at our mutual friend’s party. When I walked into the room, Renee was standing alone sipping her drink. She looked really beautiful wearing a fancy red dress. I couldn’t take my eyes off her, so I went to say hi.

I said: “I’m not a photographer, but I can picture me and you together”

She laughed and said: “ Wow! Is this how you pick up girls?”

I smiled and said: “ It made you laugh, didn’t it?! May I have a dance?”

She nodded and we had our first dance. I whispered in her ears: “ I’m going to ask you on a date, and you are going to say yes”

She giggled and said: “ sure”

And that’s how we started dating and soon I fell in love with Renee. She was amazing!

Renee and I had so much in common. We both were dog people, we loved the same music, but most of all, we loved doing outdoorsy activities. We loved going on hikes in nature and enjoying the beautiful scenery around us.

So, on our first anniversary, I planned a camping trip to the beach with a group of friends. We had everything ready, the tents, sleeping bags, food and all.

We took off in the morning. The weather was amazing and we spent our first day there swimming and sunbathing. At night, we gathered around the fire and told scary stories while toasting some marshmallows. It is not a camping trip without some s’ mores, is it?!

Then we went to sleep.

But, at night around three o’clock in the morning, Renee woke me up saying that the tent was shaking. I barely managed to open my eyes because I was too tired, but I heard strange noises that made me worry. They were the sounds of breaking and crashing.

before I got the chance to open the tent and see what was happening, I felt my clothes getting wet.

Renee screamed: “oh my god!! The water is in the tent!”

I jumped off quickly and unzipped the tent’s door. what I saw freaked me out. The ocean was raging and the waves were getting bigger and bigger. The wind was so strong that the trees felt like they were about to fly !!!

WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A STORM!

I yelled: “ We need to get out of here fast!!! The waves are getting closer! We need to wake everyone up! Hurry!”

We put our shoes on, the phones in our pockets, and I grabbed the car keys then we went outside yelling while opening our friends’ tents like crazy people: “ Everyone, wake up!!! We are in the middle of a storm! We need to get moving!”

Some of our friends were already awake but they were packing their stuff. I yelled: “ there is no time for packing! We need to get in the cars now!”

In 10 minutes we were all outside getting ready to ride the cars. But then Renee screamed on top of her lungs: “ I forgot my bag, I need to get something important from it”

I looked at her nervously and said: “ This is not the time! We need to leave. It’s getting dangerous”

But Renee didn’t listen to me. She ran fast back to the tent. I looked at my friends and said: “ You should leave now ”

I followed her. We went back into the tent and she started looking through her bag.

I asked, rushing her: “ What exactly are you looking for? Maybe I can help you look for it!”

Renee looked worried. But she didn’t answer. She kept quiet.
Then she took out a golden necklace. She held it close to her chest and let out a deep sigh.

“ Finally,” she whispered. “ We can go now!”

I grabbed her hand and got out. But unfortunately, the storm got even worse during those two minutes we spent looking for that necklace. As soon as I opened the tent, a big wave came and knocked us! We ended up under water.

I felt our hands separating. I struggled to breathe but I managed to swim and get to the water surface. I looked around and Renee was not to be found. I freaked out and screamed: “ Renee! Renee! Can you hear me?!”

Then I took a deep breath and went underwater again to see if she’s stuck, but she wasn’t there!!

I panicked. Where the hell did she go?!

But there was no time to think, another wave came. It felt so strong that I couldn’t fight it. Two minutes in the water felt like two hours.

But then I found myself laying on the beach. The wave carried me back.

I opened my eyes and I gasped to take a breath! I coughed a few times to get the water out of my lungs. I felt exhausted and all my muscles hurt.

But I had to find Renee. I stood up feeling dizzy. I noticed that my knee was bleeding, but I couldn’t feel the pain!

I walked around calling her name. I ran in all directions and just when I thought I had lost all hope of finding her, I saw a body lying next to a palm tree.

I ran towards it. It was Renee. I knelt down and I patted her face. But she didn’t respond. She was unconscious.
