Ingredients for Simple Chicken Curry:
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Chicken- 1/2 kg
- Onion chopped - 3 medium
- Diced Ginger and Garlic - 1/4 Cup
- Tomatoes chopped- 2 medium
- Coconut - 1/2 Cup
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Salt- Required Amount
Ingredients for masala :
- Cardomom - 2
- Cloves - 5
- Cinamon - 1" inch
- Corainder seeds - 1 tbsp
- Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
- Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
- Red Chillies - 5
Preparation:
- Clean & wash the chicken pieces and keep it to drain.
- Roughly chop the onions, tomatoes.
- Peel and chop the ginger and garlic cloves.
Process:
- Heat the pan or Kadai and add all the ingredients for masala/spices.
- Fry on medium heat for 2-3 mins till brown in colour.
- Again heat a pan with 2 tsp of oil and add chopped onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic and coconut.
- Mix and fry around 5 mins till tomatoes are soft.
- Grind above ingredients to fine/smooth paste.
- Heat a pressure cooker and add ghee, bay leaf, cloves.
- Add chicken and saute on low heat till the chicken pieces are tender.
- Add the grounded fine masala paste and turmeric powder.
- Now add the water and salt as required.
- Cover the lid and let it Cook for 4-5 whistles.
