John Lennon: 'Beatles records will stand up, doesn't matter what era, even in 200 years' "I think a lot of The Beatles records can stand up in any period, unless music really changes. You can pick most of Beatles records, a few of them are obviously of an era, but most of them sound good, like Hey Jude or Eleanor Rigby. It doesn't matter what period, what era, that would go down in 200 years, it's the same. Maybe they play it a little bit different or with a different machine, but when it gets down what really matters it's the song, you know?"

From the french documentary: II Était Une Fois: John Lennon à Un Jour Futur. Interview by Jean-Francois Vallée on April 04, 1975, recorded at The Dakota Building, aired on June 28, 1975.

The ending of the video contains a french translator speaking over John's voice. I coudn't find this part with the original audio, sorry.
