Overseas rescue: Flights arranged to help get stranded Australians home | ABC News Two commercial charter flights are being arranged to rescue hundreds of Australians stranded in South America because of the coronavirus pandemic.

More than 260 nationals and permanent residents have each paid thousands of dollars to get onto the first flight from Peru on Sunday.

But as James Hancock reports, many other Australians have missed out on the scarce tickets home.
