Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the government’s "extreme measures" to shut down businesses in an effort to stop the spread of coronavirus is “burning down the country in order to save it”. Many businesses throughout the economy have been forced to close their doors due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, which is forcing thousands of Australians out of jobs and into welfare.
Mr Bolt said the government is making a “terrible mistake, destroying the jobs and businesses of hundreds of thousands of Australians”.
“Politicians, pushed by many journalists, have panicked; they've overreacted by forcing shut so many businesses and have killed so many jobs”.
