When your ex moves on fast after a breakup it is usually a sign of a rebound relationship.
Rebound relationships are not just about the amount of time that it takes from the breakup until the next relationships starts. It's about the emotional way that people cope with the breakup.
But when your ex moves on very quickly, then it means that there is likely a form of psychological displacement that is happening. That is to say that your ex is shifting a lot of the mental and emotional context of the relationship that they had with you onto a new relationship with someone else.
To put it plainly, your ex is in the same relationship they had with you, but with someone new. Kind of weird I know, but I've seen it happen over and over again.
Now, if this happens between you and your ex, the important thing to remember is that this new relationship isn't how great things are with the new relationship. It's a form of projection.
Keep focusing on the connection you have with your ex and it will only further undermine how the relationship they have with their rebound is not what it is cracked up to be.
