Saving the Mara ecosystem: Farmers opt for controlled grazing

The Mara River sustains the Mara ecosystem, from the Masai Mara game reserve to the many conservancies and farms around it. Conserving it and using it prudently is critical for the community. One of the ways this has been done is through controlled grazing of livestock in the area, which has ensured that there is less erosion and silt ending up in the river.
