Cardinal Pell speaks of suffering in connection to Easter in open-letter Cardinal George Pell has spoken of redemption in an open-letter to the public.

Published in The Weekend Australian, Cardinal Pell wrote about suffering in connection to Holy Week and Easter.

The article offered a message of thanks to health services during the coronavirus pandemic, praising them for performing their "Christian duty."

On his overturned convictions, he said "I have just spent 13 months in jail for a crime I didn't commit".

"One disappointment after another... But with every blow it was a consolation to know I could offer it to God for some good purpose like turning the mass of suffering into spiritual energy," he said.
