There are 12,000 active-duty physicians in the military, comprising less than 1% of all active duty servicemembers. In the general population, Black women represent 2% of all physicians.
Across all medical specialties and branches of services, we unite to provide care for wounded civilians, service-members, and their families. Here are 14 women, bound simultaneously by the Hippocratic Oath and the Oath of Office as we serve heal and protect, celebrating our love for medicine and our country.
