President Trump to deploy military if state officials can't contain protests 트럼프 "폭동과 약탈 저지 위해 군대 동원" 초강경 대응

Over in the U.S., President Trump has spoken out on the protests that have erupted across the country, which in some places have led to looting and rioting.
Curfews have been imposed and there are several tense stand-offs between protesters and law enforcement.
Taehyun, how are things going?
Semin, U.S. President Donald Trump held a briefing on Monday, local time and said he will mobile all available federal resources, civilian and military, to stop riots and looting.
He said he will order the mayors and governors to deploy the National Guard in sufficient numbers to control the situation, and that he was even willing to deploy the U.S. military if necessary.
"As we speak, I am dispatching thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel and law enforcement officers to stop the rioting, looting, vandalism, assaults and the wanton destruction of property."
He added that anyone who threatens innocent life and property will be arrested, detained and could be sent to prison.
Protests have spread to over 140 cities across the U.S. after George Floyd, a black man, was killed in police custody in Minneapolis on Memorial Day.
A video showing police restraining Floyd... who pleaded that he "can't breathe" while a white officer pressed his knee on Floyd's neck... has sparked outrage against police brutality.
It looks like the situation in the country is getting more heated.
But at the same time, the U.S. is also a country with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world.
Aren't there any concerns about the spread of the virus amid this brutal protests?
Yes, health authorities are worried that the coronavirus could rapidly spread during these protests.
According to data from Johns Hopkins University, around 20-thousand more people in the U.S. were confirmed with coronavirus on Sunday.
When people yell slogans, sneeze to expel pepper spray or cough after inhaling tear gas,... the virus can easily spread through a crowd.
Meanwhile, some 40 cities have imposed curfews... after buildings were burned and businesses were looted.
But that didn't stop protests in Washington DC and other cities across the U.S.
Back to you, Semin
