Millennials & Zoomers May Actually Want Kids Even Though Birth Rates Are At An All Time Low | Bustle

Are Millennials and Zoomers not having kids at all, or just delaying parenthood?

Birth rates are at the lowest they've ever been, but does that mean Millennials and Zoomers have NO interest in children at all? Sure Millennials have been through two economic depressions in their adult lives and sure Zoomers are only in their early twenties - but these two things haven't stopped the previous generations! According to the people we interviewed, they're generally not against having children, but they're certainly not ready for it. In fact, more women in their 30s are giving birth than women in their 20s now! And it seems like there are actually a lot of advantages for the mother if she has her kids later in life. So we may have to wait and see if the low birth rate trend continues, or if it picks back up as Millenials and Zoomers age out of their 20s.
